We have been making this for our own family for 10 years and have tested it out and reapplied every 2-3 hours.

Non-nano uncoated zinc oxide is one of the safest most effective ways to protect yourself from the sun's harmful UVA/UVB rays. In sunscreens, non-nano zinc oxide is beneficial because it provides broad-spectrum protection, blocking both UVA and UVB rays and is safer than chemical alternatives like oxybenzone. Non-nano zinc oxide is the Environmental Working Group's first choice for sun protection. It's stable in sunlight and provides greater protection from UVA rays than titanium oxide or any other sunscreen chemical approved in the U.S. (www.ewg.com).

Please Note: Beeswax provides a superior barrier from water & sweat. We recommend using caution and reapplying to be on the safe side. It only takes a little bit! One jar will last one child approximately 3 months. Our 4 oz size is the perfect size to throw in your purse, backpack, pool bag, cooler, and diaper bag! Mom tip, our sunscreen has been known to help soothe bug bites and diaper rash. In the event you forget to put it on, and get sunburned, use it to help soothe your burn. So many uses!

Beeswax helps waterproof our sunscreen and acts as a barrier to help protect the skin from the elements. It also serves as natural preservation.

Bee pollen constitutes a natural source of antioxidants such as phenolic acids and polyphenols. In addition to antioxidant protection, the phenols and flavonoids of bee pollen also provide skin-soothing and astringent properties.

Organic unrefined coconut oil is made up of medium chain fatty acids which help to reduce dryness and allow your skin to retain moisture and provides a protective barrier, helping shield skin from environmental toxins. This nutty oil has a soothing, calming effect and can help reduce temporary redness when it pops up. Olive oil Olive oil is packed with healthy vitamins, fats, and antioxidants, and these components can contribute to healthier-looking skin. It moisturizes skin by locking in moisture, and its antioxidants can help to improve signs of aging. Olive oil also increases collagen and fights oxidative stress. Its natural SPF ranges from 2-8.

Carrot Seed Oil can protect from free radicals and is capable of nourishing, tightening, and rejuvenating the skin. Carrot seed oil is rich in antioxidants, which makes it the perfect anti-aging ingredient. It is beneficial as a rejuvenator for aging skin. These antioxidants also protect your skin from sun damage. It also has potent antibacterial properties. It inhibits the growth of many harmful bacteria on the skin. Carrot seed oil has a high SPF range! Its natural SPF ranges from 35-40.

Lavender essential oil is known for managing stress and reducing anxiety. It offers the same calming benefits for your skin. You can use calming lavender oil for skin to help reduce redness, blotchy patches, and acne scarring. Lavender essential oil’s anti-inflammatory properties make it fabulous for soothing and healing skin that’s irritated or reddened from the sun, insect bites, or bacteria. Lavender essential oil is a potent source of antioxidants and other beneficial phytonutrients, making it useful for battling signs of premature aging. Antioxidants fight free radical damage, which is caused by environmental stressors like UV rays and pollution. Its natural SPF ranges from 5-7.
